Felda United on top, Sarawak at bottom of Super League

KUALA LUMPUR: Felda United continued their winning ways when they thrashed Police 4-0 at the Tun Abdul Razak Stadium in Jengka, Pahang on Wednesday.

The seventh win by The Fighters under coach Irfan Bakti in eight games saw them continue to stay atop of the Super Leaguewith 21 points.

In the Jengka match, Christie Jayaseelan opened the scoring for the hosts in the 20th minute before Uzbekistan international player Lutfulla Turaev put Felda United two up six minutes later.

Lutfulla was on target again in the 87th minute before Francis Forkey Doe completed the rout with the fourth goal in injury time.

Defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) trail Felda United in second place after a 5-2 demolition of Sarawak at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin.

The five goals of the Southern Tigers were scored by Jorge Pereyra Diaz in the third minute, Marcos Antonio (34th), Juan Martin Lucero (35th), an own goal by Sarawak captain Mohd Shahrol Saperi (40th) and Muhammad Fazly Mazlan in the 44th minute.

Sarawak’s two goals were contributed by K Gurusamy in the 13th minute and JDT defender, Mohd Fadli Mohd Shas who headed in an own goal in the 59th minute. — Bernama
