Police seized 4,750 liters illegal kerosene

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: Criminal Investigation Unit of Tanah Bumbu Police seized 4,750 liters of kerosene from a hoarder who does not have official permission, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

“We were forced to confiscate the kerosene, because when raided by officers in the field, the owner could not show valid license,” said Tanah Bumbu Police Chief AKBP Kus Subiyantoro SIK through the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Khairul Bechar SIK in Tanah Bumbu, Thursday.

He said the disclosure of illegal kerosene was carried out by Tanah Bumbu Police on Wednesday (20/4) morning at around 10:00 am at Jalan Transmigrasi Km 11, Manunggal Village, Karang Bintang, Tanah Bumbu.

In that raid, police arrested the owner of an illegal kerosene, also secured a buyer who identified as M (38), resident of Central Hulu Sungai.

Some evidence secured, amongs were 4,750 liters of kerosene in eight iron drums, one Alkon, 140 jerry cans, two Suzuki Carry cars, and cash Rp17.800.000.

The results of the investigation, both suspects charged under Article 55 sub 53 letters c and d of Law No. 22 year 2001 on Oil and Gas and carries a penalty of five years in prison.
