KUCHING: Eight schools in the state will be closed to serve as nomination centres on Monday (April 25).
They are SMK Tun Abang Haji Openg for Demak Laut, SMK Petra Jaya (Tupong), SMK Semerah Padi (Samariang), SK Merpati Jepang (Satok), SMK Hajah Laila (Asajaya), SJK (C) Thai Kwang (Dudong), SMK Sacred Heart (Pelawan) and SMK Chung Hua Miri (Piasau).
State Election director Datu Takun Sunggah, who confirmed this today (April 23), said the schools had already been informed of taking the coming Monday off for nomination.
“They have been informed by the Education Department,” he said.
However, Takun said he had no idea how many students would be affected.
“We don’t know (the total number of students affected) but the whole school will be closed.”
