SIBU: Sarawak Workers Party (SWP) is now taking a BN-friendly stance as it moves forward, party secretary-general Munan Laja said yesterday, pointing out that all party divisions had been consulted on this.

“We support the chief minister, the prime minister, BN leaders in the state and federal level.

“In this state election, all SWP divisions are instructed to give full commitment to the victory of BN.

“For me, I will be at Katibas with members and supporters of SWP to give our support to the BN candidate Datuk Ambrose Blikau on Nomination day,” he said in an emailed statement.

Munan said SWP as a small party would contribute in a small way to ensure Sarawak a peaceful and prosperous place for all.

SWP has about 30,000 members state-wide.

On the resignation of party president Larry Sng, he said it was very sad news to SWP.

“We’d worked together under his leadership for years.

“I want to say thank you to him for the trust he had in me.

“I will do my best to carry the party to the next Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC).

“We the Supreme Council, the divisions and members would like to extend our appreciation to him for all the efforts that he put into the party all this while.

“We understand the situation he is in and accept his decision with a heavy heart,” Munan said.
