KUCHING: Ninety-eight photographers gathered at Sarawak Cultural Village on April 24 to take part in a photography competition in search of Miss Photogenic Cultural Harvest Festival (MCHF) 2016.

It is organised by Piqasa Studio.

The 13 finalists of MCHF donned traditional costumes of the Orang Ulu community for the photo session.

They are Haziqah Hamdan, 19, Stephanie Elizabeth, 22, Morgan Christincey, 24, Kedung Ballang, 21, Tangerine Malison,19, Catherine Luweny, 22, Trisdewi Trisno, 24, Priscilla Christopher, 23, Nur Ashima Affendi, 23, Darline Barie, 23, Emily Sara, 19, Amanda Jane, 22, and Nur Haziah, 22.

As one of the subsidiary titles, Miss Photogenic Cultural Harvest Festival 2016, sponsored by Piqasa Studio, serves the purpose of enhancing publicity and ticket sales for the 3-day, 3-night festival.

The winner will receive a cash prize of RM700, a sash and 16R photo size with frame.

The best photographer will walk away with RM300 cash.

The winners will be announced at the Grand Finals of Miss Cultural Harvest Festival 2016 to be held at Sarawak Cultural Village on May 1.

Miss Cultural Harvest Festival 2016 is organised by Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) as one of the programmes for the World Harvest Festival 2016 with support from the Ministry of Tourism Sarawak and Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia.

This year’s World Harvest Festival 2016 will be held at Sarawak Cultural Village from April 29 to May 1, 2016.

Highlights of the 3-day, 3-night festival beside the Grand Finals of Miss Cultural Harvest Festival are the live staging of ‘Dayang Bulan – The Moon Princess’ adapted from Kelabit legend; the final competition of Ironman WHF 2016, Sarawak Kitchen Food Festival, Sape Concert and many more.

Visitors are invited to be part of this colourful celebration to be held at Sarawak Cultural Village from April 29 to May 1.

It’s the perfect festival for those wanting to savour traditional music, dance, action and cuisine.

Early bird tickets are on sale at RM30 per person before April 26.
