LIMBANG: In a true Barisan Nasional (BN) comradeship, the unopposed Bukit Kota candidate Dr Abdul Rahman has started campaigning for fellow BN candidate for Batu Danau, Paulus Palu Gumbang.

His over 100 campaigners comprising members of PBB Bukit Kota and also those from other BN component parties, in 10 vehicles, first visited Rumah Siad, a longhouse in Batu Danau.

“We will strive to reach out to as many people as possible to complement efforts put forth by Paulus and his team.

“Paulus himself, joined by Limbang MP Hasbi Habibollah, has gone to Long Napir,” Dr Abdul Rahman said when campaigning in Rh Siad. PBB Bukit Kota youth chief, Sufian Mohat, was also present with him.

Dr Abdul Rahman, meanwhile, hit out at independent candidate, Ali Adap, who indulged in character assassination; alleging that Paulus had not done enough in bringing development to Batu Danau.

He said on the contrary Batu Danau had enjoyed accelerated development including infrastructure projects, water and electricity supplies.

“It is totally a lie to say that Batu Danau has not seen much development. Like all other areas, development comes in stages and have to be carried out according to priority,” he said.

Last Monday, Dr Abdul Rahman was returned unopposed as Bukit Kota assemblyman when no other candidate came to send their nomination papers at the civic centre here.

Paulus, who is seeking a third term, is challenged by independent Ali Adap.
