KUCHING: The chief minister can consider extending the stay of national DAP secretary general Lim Guan Eng in Sarawak, but should expect no gratitude from DAP.

This comment came from state DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen, who said there was no way the party would be grateful for what the chief minister had done and would be doing as no reason was given for limiting Lim’s stay up to only May 5.

“You (Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem) should not be stopping him (Lim) in the first place. When they come in, they have the right like anybody else to stay 90 days. Without any reason, you take away their rights to stay 90 days and after that you say, okay, maybe I can consider letting you stay.

“You took away my right and when you return a bit, you expect me to say thank you?” said Chong today (April 30) when asked to respond to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office which said that Adenan would consider extending Lim and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali’s stay in Sarawak.
