KUALA LUMPUR: Police have detained a 33-year-old Iranian man who allegedly planted eight trees, believed to be marijuana, at a condominium in Cheras last Wednesday.

“Initial investigations revealed that the suspect is a medical student from Iran and has been in the country for the past two years. He said the suspect had been remanded for two days from yesterday to facilitate investigation under Section 6(B) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

In a separate raid at an apartment in Bukit Ceylon here, the police detained two local

men and an Indonesian woman, aged between 24 and 25, on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking.

“In the 5.30pm raid, the police also seized eight large packets and six transparent plastic packets containing methamphetamine (Syabu) weighing 3.37 kilogrammes.

“Apart from that, a CZ Rami P9C19 pistol and 40 live bullets were also seized from the suspects,” he said, adding that the total seizure was estimated at RM430,000.
