Salehudin, senior officers and Roydin’s family were among those at the airport yesterday.
KOTA KINABALU: The remains of the Sabah policeman who was found dead in a ditch in Muar, Johor, on Saturday, arrived in Kota Kinabalu yesterday and brought to his hometown in Kudat for burial.
The body of the late Corporal Roydin Jamaluddin arrived at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) at 11.45am, accompanied by Muar police chief ACP Azman Ayob, and Roydin’s wife, Vianni Lukin, and his two sons, aged eight and five.
At the airport to receive the arrival were State Criminal Investigation chief Datuk Salehhudin Abd Rahman, and senior officers, as well as Roydin’s parents, Rabayah Hassan and Jamaluddin Abd Hamid.
The remains were then brought on a four-hour journey to Roydin’s home at Kampung Telaga Pitas for burial.
Roydin, who served the
police force since 2003, was found dead in a ditch, believed to have died from head injuries sustained.
The cause of his death has yet to be ascertained and police have detained eight suspects, six men and two women, to assist in the investigation.
