SERIAN: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi called for BN candidates in Serian to not forget the needs of the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela).

During his speech at the ‘Rela with the Leaders’ session at SJK Chung Hua Serian today (May 2), Zahid urged BN candidates Martin Ben (Kedup), John Ilus (Bukit Semuja), Roland Sagah Wee Inn (Tarat) and Datuk Seri Michael Manyin (Tebedu) to pledge RM50,000 each to Rela from their constituency fund each year.

“Rela in Serian has been among the most active Rela in the state and I want them to be well taken care of,” said Zahid.

Zahid also praised Rela for working closely with enforcement agencies such as the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Consumerism and Cooperatives (KPDNKK) in conducting checks on traders.
