SARATOK: A disunited coalition wracked by internal disputes like the opposition front can never plan and implement development plans effectively for the state.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in making this statement added that voters should take into consideration the performance and track record of a party when casting their votes this Saturday.

He pointed out unlike the opposition parties, Barisan Nasional (BN) being strong and stable can work out development plans and implement them effectively.

“When a party is strong, the administration is smooth, the government can carry out programmes that benefit the people effectively.

“Do you wish to pick a party from the opposition that cannot even reach a consensus in deciding seat allocation, let alone administer the state?” he asked during a “walkabout” programme at Dataran Bandar Saratok here yesterday.

Najib who is also the national BN chairman stressed that only candidates from the ruling coalition have the capacity to support development agenda in the state.

Accompanying Najib at the event were Datuk Wahab Abdul Aziz and Kilat Beriak, the respective BN candidates for Kalaka and Krian.

The prime minister also reminded voters to pick a candidate who listens to the people and is able to channel their demands effectively to the ruling government.

On the reason the BN is seeking further mandate from the voters, Najib explained the government required at least 10 years to carry out its development programme in the state.

“To plan and execute a development agenda requires time, it cannot be carried out in a year or two. It will take at least 10 years to complete. Therefore, if there is no mandate from the people, the development agenda will be hampered,” he continued.

During the programme, Najib visited several business premises including the local market.

He sampled some of the local delicacies, snacks as well as taking the time to stop and took “selfies” with the people.
