KOTA SAMARAHAN: There is no place for Peninsular Malaysia-based parties to represent the people in Muara Tuang after the election.

Its BN-PBB candidate Datuk Idris Buang sent a very clear message to the people that only local-based parties should be allowed to rule the state and develop it further.

Sarawak would be better off with its autonomy because Sarawakians know better than Peninsular Malaysians how to provide for its own people, he said in his election campaign speech at Kampung Entingan here Sunday.

“However, we welcome people to come over and visit us because it is our culture to welcome guests but we do not welcome those who bring negative politics and ideologies,” he said.

Idris said Peninsular Malaysian opposition parties were in a mess because they still had their own issues yet to be resolved.

“If they have internal problems of their own how can they focus on the people and then come over here to meddle in our affairs?

“We have many great leaders here who know how to take care of their own people.”

Idris said Sarawak was unique and its people from various races live in peace and racial harmony since time immemorial.

“We respect each other. We tolerate each other’s religion. We share festivals and culture and we can live together.

“Our leaders are well mannered and we do not want us and our community to quarrel. If you vote for me you are voting for Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem . The BN government will continue to bring development to your village and the surrounding areas,” he told the Entingan folk.

Samarahan Walikota Datuk Peter Minos, headman Cr David Jiku Nader and Penghulu Lawrence Pau were also on the campaign trail.
