SARIKEI: A new complex had been approved for the Divisional Road Transport Department (JPJ) while an enforcement centre at Pakan junction is being proposed.

Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Ab Aziz Kiprawi who disclosed this during a press conference after he launched a road safety campaign at Jalan Bnk here yesterday said that an allocation of RM21.4 million had been approved for the project.

Construction on the complex project is expected to commence soon, said Aziz who made a brief visit to the site at Km 4.8, Jalan Repok while he was on his way here yesterday morning.

Aziz said the new complex is a government’s commitment to provide quality service to the local people.

On the Enforcement Centre at Jalan Pakan junction, Aziz said the project is still in the proposal stage with no allocation approved yet, adding that the centre is the government’s initiative to ensure that road users comply with traffic laws for their own safety.
