BAU: BN Tasik Biru candidate Dato Henry Harry Jinep has pledged to deliver to the best of his ability should the people give him the mandate to be their elected representative.

By working together with Mas Gading MP Anthony Nogeh Gumbek, he assured the voters that they would work together as a team to transform Tasik Biru in terms of better infrastructure development and projects that could uplift the people’s livelihood.

“Since both Nogeh and myself are in BN, we will be able to work better to implement programmes and projects that cater to the needs of the people,” he said at an event in Kampung Jagoi Duyoh recently.

Henry said the people should not waste their votes on individuals who contested the election to ‘makan gaji saja’ but would not be able to effectively cater to the people’s need for continued development.

Earlier, Nogeh told the people they needed to rally their support behind the candidate who could work well with him.

“The candidate is none other than Dato Henry Harry Jinep who is contesting under the BN ticket,” he added.

Nogeh, who hails from Duyoh, pleaded to his fellow kampung folk to give Henry at least 90 percent support.

He noted Duyoh, similarly with many villages in the state’s rural areas still needed BN to provide the relevant infrastructures and initiatives to relieve hardship and upgrade their livelihood.

Henry is the new face introduced by Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party where Nogeh is the secretary general.

Nogeh is also Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Deputy Minister and a first-term MP.

Tasik Biru will see a straight fight between Henry and DAP’s Mordi Bimol. Mordi contested in Mas Gading in the 2013 general election and lost to Nogeh in a four cornered fight.

Meanwhile, the last few days have been busy for Henry and his camp as they entered the final lap of campaigning.

Henry held dialogues with the various communities and he also went on a walkabout in Bau town to meet the people.

On Wednesday, he joined Tourism Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg at Bau Civic Centre and later joined federal Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for a similar function at Kampung Tanjung Poting.
