LONG PILLAH, Baram: A group of seven people believed to be bloggers believed to from Peninsular Malaysia were evicted from a Barisan Nasional (BN) political talk here for their disruptive behaviour on Wednesday.

The political talk was organised by the Women Wing of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Telang Usan branch in support for BN candidate for Telang Usan Dennis Ngau who is contesting against Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate Roland Engan.

While the main speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar was speaking, a man in the crowd shouted ‘GST’.

Asfia stopped his speech and asked the man to come forward and asked him where he came from.

He said that he came from Kuala Lumpur and when Asfia told him that it was not polite to interrupt a speech and that he should not be at the longhouse he shouted “I am a Malaysian.”

While Asfia was explaining to the man, his colleagues were seen quietly leaving the venue and he was also escorted out by Rela members.

Continuing his speech, Asfia reminded the constituents to exercise their voting right wisely as their votes will decide who would represent them in state cabinet and determine progress or development in Telang Usan.

Asfia pointed out that the track record of Dennis in serving the people in the past five years as their elected representative was very good.

“Dennis really worked hard for the people and for Telang Usan to deliver what had been promised to the people. If you want development to continue in the next five years, you know who to choose.”

He said the people in Telang Usan should learn from Baram’s dark history when under independents Harrison Ngau and Kebing Wan.

“There was no development and progress as they had no ability and capability to implement them. The opposition can promise you the sun and the moon and making presence felt and seen by the people during campaign period but disappear after election .”

Also present at the function were Senator Datuk Lihan Jok and Women Wing chairperson Margaret Nawan.
