Pusaka tourney draws 240 golfers with RM80k for aces

KUCHING: More than RM80,000 worth of three hole-in-one prizes lie in store for over 200 golfers at the Pusaka Golf Tournament at Kelab Golf Sarawak (KGS) next Saturday (May 14).

The first one is a Perodua Myvi 1.3 Standard Auto car worth RM46,456 for the hole-in-one feat at Matang Hole 3 or Demak Hole 17, sponsored by Saratim Insurance Agency Services Sdn Bhd.

Two other hole-in-one prizes are a RM20,000 Rolex watch sponsored by Lonpac Insurance Berhad for the feat at Santubong Hole 17 or Demak Hole 14, and a Home Theatre worth RM15,000 sponsored by MPI Insurance Berhad.

The prizes were handed over to Pusaka (Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation) general manager Datu Sarudu Hoklai at Wisma Sumber Alam yesterday by Saratim’s general manager Datuk Patrick Liew, Lonpac’s business development senior executive Marie Isabel Lim and MPI General’s Sarawak general manager Steven Hii.

Club captain of KGS Dr David Sylvester Ling also received the challenge trophy from Sarudu.

Sarudu said the competition was a permanent feature in the KGS calendar and took the opportunity to thank the three sponsors for their continuous support for the event.

Two hundred-and-forty golfers will be taking part in the five categories – VIP, Invited Guests, Pusaka and Pusaka subsidiaries, Men’s Open and Women’s Open.
