Zahid joins Muslims in special prayers for copter crash victims

MIRI: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi joined more than 3,000 Muslims for special prayers (solat hajat) at At-Taqwa Mosque yesterday to facilitate the Search and Rescue (SAR) operation for the six victims onboard the

ill-fated helicopter that crashed near Sebuyau on Thursday afternoon.

The special prayers led by the division Iman Ustaz Sarafuddin Suaut was conducted soon after Friday prayers.

On hand to welcome the arrival of Zahid and his entourage were the chairman of the mosque Hamzah Dadu and the board members of Miri Malay Welfare Trust Board.

Also present were BN candidate for Senadin Datuk Lee Kim Shin, former Assistant Minister of Public Utilities (Water Supply) Datuk Sylvester Entri Muran and Miri Resident Antonio Kahti Galis.
