Julaihi retains Sebuyau, promises to serve constituents

KUCHING: Datuk Julaihi Narawi who retained Sebuyau seat after defeating opposition candidates from PAS and Amanah promised to work hard to serve the people.

He said the Barisan Nasional (BN) victory indicated that the people acknowledged that development was taking place in the area which they were enjoying.

“The victory is a proof that the people understand the struggle of BN to develop the area and the people and with this victory I will work hard to further develop the area and the people,” said Julaihi who is into his sixth term as the elected representative in the area.

Julaihi won by 2,742 majority after garnering 4,531 votes, defeating Wan Abdillah Wan Ahmad (PAS) and Andrew Jain (Amanah) who obtained 1,789 and 164 votes respectively.

He added that the victory also indicated the strong cohesiveness among the various races in the BN component parties and the various races in the area.
