KUCHING: The Zhu Sze Kung Temple, a popular Chinese temple in Tabuan Laru has lined up a series of activities to celebrate its deity’s birthday from May 12 to 14.

The three-day event also commemorates the temple’s 7th anniversary as well as to celebrate the completion of the Memorial of Sarawak Volunteer Mechanics and Drivers during World War II.

Members of the public are welcome to visit the memorial.

A temple spokesman said at 5pm of May 12 and 14, there would be a karaoke, folk and lion dance performances to entertain devotees and visitors.

Vegetarian noodles will also be served throughout the three-day celebration.

For the karaoke, the number of participants is limited to 30 each night and a RM20 fee will be charged per person during registration.

Every singer is entitled to draw an ang pow after the performance.

Twelve lucky draw prizes await the winners every night.

Devotees or visitors will be given a lucky number after making their offerings to the deity.
