Over 200 Kapit students launch archery club

KAPIT: Kapit Division Archery Association has finally managed to spread its wings to students.

The SMK Selirik Archery Club was launched with a demonstration by members of the association at the school’s multi-purpose hall recently. More than 200 students are now registered as club members.

“Our main aim is to introduce this new sport to the students in Kapit and also to train more archers to represent schools and Kapit in the future”, said association president Ting King Yiing.

He presented a dozen new arrows to the school’s senior assistant for co-curricular activities Lau Yoke Huck.

The demonstration started with an introduction by association vice secretary Mohd Hairol Hafifi Bin who was assisted by vice president Kong Shin Shin and coaches Kong Shin Hou and Kong Sing Ngie.

SMK Selirik Archery Club advisors are Catherine Ting, Mok Ming, Noor Najia Bt Lodz and Teo Ai Choo.
