SIBU: Teachers of SK Perbandaran No 4 here were yesterday advised to brace for change to stay relevant in their profession.

The advice was from headmistress Wong Teck Nai during the school’s Teachers’ Day celebration.

She also reminded her teachers of their role of providing quality education.

“That is why teachers must be ready to change, to be resilient, and to be futuristic.

“We must always improve our knowledge and upgrade our teaching skills.”

Urging teachers to be proud for playing the important role of nation-building, Wong said no one could deny the sacrifice of teachers in building a strong, harmonious, and united group of people.

She said the common goal of teachers was to shape a society that was united, with high community spirit, tolerant, democratic, respectful of others and full of determination in life.

The celebration was spiced up by performances of the pupils and teachers.
