KUCHING: Twenty Penan youths from Murum Resettlement Scheme in Tegulang, Murum were led by the Chief Minister’s Department State Implementation Monitoring Unit (SIMU) director Bakrie Zaini to visit key institutions namely Wisma Bapa Malaysia, the State Legislative Assembly Complex and the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) here recently.

According to a press statement, the youths are currently on a six-month vocational course at the Centre for Technical Excellence (Centex) in Santubong. Prior to this, the group had attended a two-week Mobile Youth Transformation Vocational Programme (MYTV) in Tegulang, Murum.

The next batch of trainees will be youths from Nyalau (Bintulu) and Dalat (Mukah) who have also undergone the MYTV programme earlier this year.

Future MYTV programmes will be held in Limbang, Kapit and Betong divisions this year.

The MYTV programme is implemented as one of the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) initiatives in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance’s National Strategy Unit, the state government and the Armed Forces.
