SIBU: Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) Pelawan Youth Wing has requested Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem to appoint Nangka Assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee as an assistant minister.
Youth chairman Mohd Junaidi Sambang said Dr Annuar’s ‘My Report Card’ had shown his excellent performance as a people’s representative over the last five years.
“He won with a big majority in the just concluded 11th state elections. He has good personality, and has always been people-friendly.
“I think he is eligible to be appointed as assistant minister,” Junaidi told reporters yesterday.
He also pointed out that Dr Annuar had always been concerned with the needs of the people not only in his constituency but elsewhere.
Junaidi was speaking after attending an appreciation dinner at PBB Pelawan premises organized by PBB Pelawan Youth to celebrate Dr Annuar’s victory in the election.
Also present at the function were PBB Pelawan deputy chief Abang Mohamad Abang Jes.
PBB Youth Jasmin Unit chief Abang Hafiq Abang Kassim also echoed the call by Junaidi to have Dr Annuar appointed as assistant minister.
Meanwhile, Angkatan Warisan Anak Sarawak (AWAS) Paradom Unit chief Sharrf Omar said Dr Annuar had met up with people in Paradom many times to understand their problems and issues.
“One of the problems for the people in Paradom is the absence of a Surau. We’ve about 210 Muslims here,” he said, adding that Dr Annuar got them a temporary Surau about five months ago.
Afryzam Mohd Asheri, from Dudong constituency who is undergoing hemodialysis said he was touched by Dr Annuar’s kindness in helping him defray his treatment cost.
“My whole family is indebted to Dr Annuar,” he said, expressing confidence that Dr Annuar could help many others in various ways.
