SEGi Psycomm seminar equips students with employable skills

KUCHING: The Faculty of Education and Social Sciences at SEGi College Sarawak organised the first series of ‘Psychology and Communication Seminar (Psycomm) 2016’ recently.

The seminar aimed to provide a new learning experience to students besides updating them with the needs of employers, the college said.

Twenty five students from the American Degree Program (ADP) participated in this seminar as part of their module assessment. They had to put classroom theories into practice and at the same time improved their communication, presentation and analytical skills which are essential to increase their employability.

The Psycomm committee board awarded Saif Othman as the best presenter under the individual category. The best presenters under the group category were Li Yuan Sing, Jamsreruun Jamaran, Aaron Wong Weng Cheng, Li Lin Phong and Octavia Carla Tay Pei Hun. The SEGi 4+0 ADP with Troy University, Alabama, USA offers the following qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts (Promotion minor), Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts (Psychology minor), Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Communication Studies minor), Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Global General Business minor) and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Global Business major).
