SSC, UiTM and Teacher Education institute performance analysis course

KUCHING: The Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC), in collaboration with Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation, UiTM Sarawak and Physical Education Department, Institute of Teacher Education Tun Abdul Razak Campus (IPGKTAR), organised the Performance Analysis of Sports (International Level 1) course in UiTM Sarawak, Kota Samarahan recently.

The course was held prior to Sukma International Sports Science and 2nd Malaysian Sports Psychology Conference.

It was conducted by Professor Mike Hughes, the president of the International Society of Performance Analysis of Sports and Dr Tengku Fadilah Tengku Kamalden, the president of the International Society of Performance Analysis of Sports Asia.

Hughes is a world renowned sports scientist in the performance analysis of sports.

The participants comprised coaches, physical education trainee teachers and sports science undergraduates as well as lecturers.

SSC chief executive officer Dr Ong Kong Swee, who also heads the Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS), said the course was important in enhancing the scientific approaches in coaching.

This course was designed to provide an introduction to the core concepts of performance analysis and provide valuable practical experience and coaching knowledge in sports.

Hughes was also the keynote speaker and Dr Tengku the invited speaker for the Sukma International Sports Science and 2nd Malaysian Sports Psychology Conference at Imperial Hotel.

Ong extended his gratitude and appreciation to Dr Chin Ngien Siong (IPGKTAR), Cyndra Robert Budull and Gordon Nicolaus Jemat Anchang (UiTM Sarawak) for their support and collaboration in co-organising the course.
