Four-day course for 26 lawn bowls referees

KUCHING: Twenty-six participants from all over the country are attending a Level II Refereeing Course at the State Indoor Stadium and the Sarawak Lawn Bowls Stadium in Petra Jaya from May 19-22.

The four-day course, organised jointly by the Malaysian Lawn Bowls Federation (MLBF) and the Sarawak Lawn Bowls Association (SALBA), is part of preparations for hosting of Sukma XVIII in the state from July 22-31.

It is conducted by Kapt Ahmad Shah.

Also present at the opening of the event yesterday was MLBF vice president Dato Mohd Shukri Ali and SALBA vice president Poniman Bejok.

Meanwhile, Sarawak will be hosting the Pre-Sukma lawn bowls competition at Sarawak Lawn Bowls Stadium from May 21-22.

The meet will be used to test the facility and technical officials in the organisation of the Sukma lawn bowls compeition, as well as being timely exposure for the state team.
