KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Bhd (Proton) is recalling 20,330 units of Proton Inspira, a rebadged Mitusbishi model, for improvement.

In a statement yesterday, the carmaker said this is in line with the move by Mitsubishi Motors Japan, which has recalled selected Mitsubishi models worldwide for defective right-turn indicator switches.

“The recalled Proton Inspira units, manufactured between 2010 and 2014, are installed with the affected right-turn indicator switches supplied by Mitsubishi,” it said. Proton also advised about 90,000 owners of the Exora CPS 1.6, manufactured between 2009 to 2015, to go for a precautionary inspection of the fuel line in the powertrain compartment.

All labour and parts costs relating to these rectification works would be borne by Proton, it said. For enquiries and assistance, affected car owners can call Proton’s Customer Care Hotline 1-800-888-398, email [email protected] or visit its website www.proton.com and microsite www.carinquiry.proton.com. — Bernama
