BAU: Tasik Biru assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep has pledged to assist families at Boring area along Bau – Serikin road here who are not enjoying clean water supply despite living not far from Bau town.

A walkabout by Henry and his team recently found out about the water problems faced for so many years by most households in that area, which comprise many Chinese families.

Because of this, the families resorted to other alternatives such as collecting rainwater and pumping water out from the nearby river to supplement their domestic water usage.

“All of those people whom I met during this walkabout said the problem has been going on for more than 10 years. To solve this problem, I will meet with the relevant authorities to find a solution for the people in Boring area so they will no longer feel neglected.

“We are not only looking at their water supply problem, but also condition of access roads and other basic infrastructures,” said Henry.

“I will make sure all these families get what they are supposed to get and enjoy. This is a straight forward case whereby every citizen should be taken care of regardless of whether they vote for me or not (in the just concluded state election).

“We are on a mission to get things improved and in place on the ground,” said Henry, who was a new face introduced by Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party in the election.

In the state election on May 7, Henry won Tasik Biru for BN by a 1,288 vote-majority after garnering 6,922 votes against the 5,634 votes polled by his opponent Mordi Bimol from DAP in a straight fight for this Bidayuh-majority seat.
