KOTA KINABALU: PETRONAS Dagangan Bhd (PDB), in collaboration with Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd (Bank Islam) has expanded the cash out service for Bank Islam Visa Debit Card-i holders at PETRONAS Stations in East Malaysia, bringing the total number of stations offering the service nationwide to 286.

The expansion of the service to PETRONAS Stations in Sabah (53), Sarawak (79) and Labuan (3) will provide greater ease and more avenues for Bank Islam Visa Debit Card-i holders to make direct cash withdrawals at the counter in addition to Bank Islam branches and automated teller machines (ATMs) available in those states.

“We are committed to putting innovation at the heart of everything we do at PETRONAS so that customers can continue to expect new and enhanced products and services that provide further convenience and value every time they drive into our stations,” said Mohd Ibrahimnuddin Mohd Yunus, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, PDB at the launch of the cash out service expansion at PETRONAS Station Jalan Lintas in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

“This exclusive partnership not only benefits Bank Islam customers through stations currently offering the cash out service; customers can also enjoy added facilities of performing banking transactions while they stop to fuel up with PETRONAS Primax or PETRONAS Dynamic Diesel, on top of purchasing items from Kedai Mesra and many more.

“This is in line with our focus on providing an enhanced customer experience unique to PETRONAS,” he added.

“Today, Bank Islam expands its offerings to the customers in East Malaysia with the launch of this innovative service.

Being the second region after the East Coast to offer this cash out service, East Malaysia’s customers can now experience greater convenience for their cash withdrawal transactions.

“Now, Bank Islam customers in East Malaysia will have increased access for cash withdrawals with no charge from 62 to 197 locations,” said Dato Sri Zukri Samat, Managing Director of Bank Islam.

Zukri added, “Since its launch in April this year, the response from customers has been encouraging.

With this expansion, we hope to increase Bank Islam Visa Debit Card-i card usage and merchant sales volume at PETRONAS Stations in East Malaysia.

“Through the greater convenience of this innovative service, the communities of rural areas in East Malaysia are given the opportunity of having financial inclusion.

We hope through this exclusive partnership with PETRONAS, more Malaysians are attracted to become the Bank’s customers and experience the convenience of the offerings themselves.
