The car was badly damaged in the accident.
BINTULU: A man driving a salon car was seriously injured while the driver of a multipurpose-vehicle (MPV) was unhurt when their vehicles collided at Sebiew bridge 1 Bintulu-Miri Road on Tuesday evening.
The injured car driver was indentified as Jine Hawang.
According to Bintulu Fire and Rescue Department station chief Di-Hata Gobel, eight rescuers were despatched to the scene about 10km away after receiving a call at 7.21pm.
The rescuers arrived at the scene at 7.38pm.
He said the car’s injured driver was trapped in his seat while the MPV’s driver was unhurt.
The injured victim was rushed to hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.
