KUCHING: The Sarawak Taekwondo Association (WTF) are focused in preparing well for the upcoming Sukma XVIII from July 22-31.

This was emphasised by its president Mohd Salleh Sani who was returned unopposed to his post at their recent annual general meeting (AGM).

“I am fully confident that with our team of dedicated and acclaimed committee, instructors, together with the enthusiasm and teamwork from our athletes, parents’ support group, the best is yet to come and to retain the excellent performance,” he said.

The association’s seventh AGM progressed smoothly and orderly without any incident or objection.

“I am really impressed by my fellow board members of their united, fair, transparent and harmonious manner during this Annual General Meeting.

“Their efforts and works carry out for the development of Taekwondo (WTF) in the state is commendable,” Salleh added.

Minister of Utilities Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi Utom and Datuk Hamden Ahmad were retained as advisors of the association during the AGM.New faces in the committee for the term 2016-2018 are Azizul Annuar Adenan who was elected as the deputy president, and Law Hoi Khong and Terrence Phiong as executive board members.

Those who retained their posts were vice presidents Dato Sri Lau Kueng Chai, Then Yit Fui, Raja Zahari Raja Yusof, secretary Alex Yeo, treasurer Ho Khee Jeem, state technical chairman Tan Check Joon and Wang Teck Zen, Dr Chong Teck Siong, and Awang Suhaimi as executive board members.
