KOTA KINABALU: A one-year-old boy died in the Women and Children’s Hospital in Likas after the Perodua Viva car he and three other family members were travelling in collided with a concrete mixer truck at the Kolombong-Lintas light intersection where a flyover project is being carried out on Wednesday.

Mohammad Farish bin Feizzel was pronounced dead by doctors hours after the 4.30pm incident on May 25.

Three other family members, aged four to 25, were injured.

It is believed that the Perodua Viva car was making a right turn to Inanam from Lintas Road when the truck that was coming from the opposite direction hit the left side of the car.

City police chief ACP M. Chandra said both drivers and passengers were taken to hospital for outpatient treatment.

Chandra said both drivers had been remanded to assist in police investigation and he urged eyewitnesses to come forward.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
