KUCHING: Kuching City South Mayor Datuk James Chan welcomes other councils to visit Kuching South City Council (MBKS) to exchange ideas.

“We welcome visitors from the Peninsula.

“We can exchange ideas and share knowledge.

“We learn from each other to fix the flaws and improve for the betterment of the people,” Chan said when he and councillors from Batu Pahat Town Council toured Stutong Community Market yesterday.

He said the council cared about the people’s feelings and works closely with them, not just on drainage and roads.

Met at the market, Batu Pahat Town Council president (Yang-Dipertua) Ramli Ab Rahman said Kuching is peaceful, safe, clean and neat.

“We see a friendly culture, welcoming people and 1Malaysia racial harmony rarely seen elsewhere.

“We are studying the administration and city management systems to be absorbed and endorsed in Batu Pahat,” he said.

He said they chose Kuching because it has gained international and local recognition.

It is a city with a beautiful landscape.

The group of 30 were here on Monday and they left yesterday. They were on a study trip and attended a briefing given by MBKS.
