BATULICIN, South Kalimantan: Tanah Bumbu district held a mass blood donors to supply blood stocks in dr. H. Andi Rahman Noor Tanah Bumbu Regional Hospital, said the Regional Secretary of Tanah Bumbu H Said Akhmad, AntaranewsKalsel reported.
“Currently, the stock of blood in Tanah Bumbu hospital still availabe, while the blood donor currently implemented is for the stock in Ramadan,” he said in Batulicin, Sunday.
Previously the hospital had experienced shortages of blood at the time of Ramadan, so as to anticipate such problems from happening again local government carry out mass blood donation.
According to him, during Ramadan will be increasingly difficult to meet the stock, because the volunteers who regularly donate blood are fasting.
“This kind of activity has been scheduled every time approaching Ramadan, so blood stock in hospital or blood banks is still available,” said the Secretary.
He targeted, mass blood donation this time able to collect at least 200 bags of blood which may be enough to supply during Ramadan.
Director of Tanah Bumbu Hospital dr. Harry added, there are 28 health benefits for blood donor, so volunteers do not need to fear blood donation, especially for beginners who have never done.
“One of the benefits of protecting the heart, for those who are actively donate blood will surely find a much healthier heart,” he explained.
Other benefits include lowering the risk of cancer, helps indulge level of iron in the blood and the renewal of blood cells on a regular basis.
