BAU: Serumbu will enjoy all the pledges made during the May 7 state election to further develop the area and the villages.

Its assemblyman Miro Simuh said he would concentrate with the work to fulfill the promises made by Barisan Nasional (BN) during the election.

To work more effectively, Miro said he would fix a date to meet all the village chiefs in the constituency to chart out the work that needs to be done.

“I will concentrate with the work to fulfill all the promises made (by BN) during the just concluded state election… and for this I will meet with all the village chiefs so that we can work together and effectively,” Miro said recently at Kpg Skandis Baru community hall here.

The event – a pre-Gawai and Thanksgiving dinner – was to acknowledge the hard work, support and contribution of all BN election machinery during the election that led to BN victory in the constituency.

Present were also Deputy Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Seri Jamos Dawos Mamit, who is also Puncak Borneo MP, Walikota for Samarahan District council Datuk Peter Minos, PBB Mambong branch chairman Datuk Detta Samen and deputy Sora Rusah, community leaders and representatives from other BN component parties.

Miro also hoped for co-operation to face the challenges in developing the area and the people.

“Now that the election is over, I hope the people can work together to bring more development to the area,” he said.

Dawos, meanwhile, said he would work closely with the newly elected assemblyman and try to win over the people who rejected BN in the election.

“This is a challenge to us and we will work together to develop the area and win the hearts of the people who voted against us (BN) in the just concluded election,” Dawos said.
