No district officer to sign property transfer forms

KOTA KINABALU: Kapayan assemblyman Dr Edwin Bosi called on the government to quickly resolve the problem where Borang Jadual Tiga (Schedule 3 Form) had not been signed by the District Officer in Papar.

This Schedule 3 Form in the Native Court is an important document to effect transfer of properties from the deceased to their children.

Dr Bosi said he had received complaints that for the past eight months, no Schedule 3 Forms had been signed by the district officer and this had caused lots of concern to those affected by the delay in transferring the properties.

He said the district officer had retired two months ago and there is an acting district officer who claimed that he was not empowered to sign the forms.

I find this illogical as administrative function must continue to function. That is why an acting District Officer is quickly appointed to allow a smooth administration at the district concerned.

Dr Bosi expressed hope that the issue of appointing a new district officer can be hastened so that the natives would not suffer from the delay in getting their inheritance resolved as soon as possible.

I hope Papar will get a good qualified and experienced district officer, he said.
