Miri Chinese beauty clinches Miss Fit Star Sarawak crown

KUCHING: Jac Jossica Lu was crowned as the first Miss Fit Star Sarawak during the grand finale at Sarawak Golf Club here recently.

The 26-year-old Miri Chinese beat 19 other contestants — Hazmiena Zamri aged 19, Fitri Ashrina Elza (20), Hilnishalancie Saen (23), Steptanieaudrey John (22), Michelle Stevenson (21), Dayang Nurulfiza Awang Osman (27), Lidya Yusreena Abdul Ellias (21), Sopia Gelip (24), Vivian Gabriel (23), Charlene Charmmy (21), Faynella Saing (23), Marie Alexandra Beatrice (21), Radenajwatul Akma Ahmad Sepian (19), Sharifah Munirah Wan Alamshah (22), Putri Nurbizauwatul Sapuan (24), Easter Jawai Paul (19), Farah Nadzirah Yahya (19), Ella Mohammad Hisyam (21) and Caroline Kueh (20) — all vying for the RM2,000cash prize, crown, trophy, sash, return Kuching-Kota Kinabalu flight ticket and other sponsored items.

Bidayuh lass Charlene of Kuching placed second, earning her RM1,500, crown, trophy, sash and other prizes, while Marie — another Bidayuh from Kuching — placed third and received RM1,000, crown, trophy, sash and other prizes.

The third and fourth runners-up were Kueh and Lidya, respectively — each of them brought home a crown, trophy and prizes.

Apart from the top prize, Lu was also adjudged ‘Miss Photogenic’, ‘Miss Friendship’ and ‘Miss Best in Evening Dress’ of the pageant, organised by Cammielye Golds Sdn Bhd.

Runners-up Marie, Kueh and Lidya were also honoured with respective Miss Talent, Miss Favourite and Miss Fitness titles.

Other subsidiary title winners were Michelle who was named ‘Miss Popularity’, Sopia (Miss Body Beautiful), Radenajwatul Akma (Miss Best Catwalk) and Stephanie (Miss Congeniality).

Each of them bagged RM200, sash and other prizes. However, there was also a special subsidiary title ‘Miss Think Qalas Ambassador’ up for grabs among the contestants. The lucky winner was Faynella, who went home with the cash prize of RM500.

Murum assemblyman Chukpai Ugon officiated at the opening ceremony of the grand finale, of which the sponsors were ALQ Project Sdn Bhd, CityONE Megamall, Emilio Valentino, Snapper Motion, Dayak Shutter, Lentera Astana, Jesz Jovnicc, Janizan Catering, Geogery, Liew Videography, One Sight Printing, De Stage Bridal & Spa, Think Qalas, The Library, Duo Grafica, Full House, Absession Gym, Sarawak Designers Association (Sarda), Amazing Cut Hair Salon, and Scentiments Fragrances and Cosmetics.
