MIRI: Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting, continues his ground visits to meet the people all over the constituency, to extend his appreciation and thanks for their support at the recent 11th state election.

Accompanied by Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), Pujut branch chairman Adam Yii, the duo and a team of party members were at Krokop 10 market yesterday.

The purpose was to meet the hawkers to thank them for their support and for choosing Ting as their representative in Piasau.

During their rounds at the market, Ting received feedbacks and grouses from the hawkers, among which was a request for proper ventilation fans in the building.

To this, the assemblyman assured that he would discuss the matter with the Miri City Council.

He also promised to work out a solution to attract more people to trade at the upper floor of the market building.

Out of 20 stalls available, only seven are occupied, including two muslim stalls – all are food outlets.

The place is quiet and looks ‘deserted’ especially after 1pm onwards, hence less people coming over to the stalls, contributing to poor business.
