Ambulance destroyed after catching fire

SIBU: An ambulance mysteriously caught fire while on a return trip from Sibu to Sarikei via Paradom Road at about 3.30am yesterday.

The driver and the two nurses on board the ambulance managed to escape to safety.

Earlier, the ambulance had sent a patient to the Sibu Hospital.

About 10 firemen from the Sibu Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) were called in to put out the fire.

The vehicle was 60 per cent burnt by the time the fire was extinguished.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
