KUALA LUMPUR: National badminton ace Datuk Lee Chong Wei has moved closer to claim his sixth Indonesia Open title after reaching the final of the championship at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta.
He did not face any problem against homester Ihsan Maulana Mustofa in the semi-final, edging him 21-9 and 21-18 in 39 minutes.
He will meet either China’s Tian Houwei or Jan O Jorgensen of Denmark in the final.
Chong Wei is also eyeing to reclaim the world number one spot from Chen Long of China by winning the final.
Meanwhile, women’s doubles Vivian Hoo Kah Mun/ Woon Khe Wei were shown the door by third seed Tang Yuanting/Yu Yang of China, in a straight set of 21-15 and 21-9. — Bernama
