KUCHING: Warriors Old Boys Rugby Club finally clinched the Akhdan RNA KRFC League title after beating two-time winner Kuching Rugby Football Club (KRFC) Blackcatz 15-7 in the final game at Song Kheng Hai Rugby Ground last Saturday.

It was a tight game with both teams battling to penetrate each other’s defence.

KRFC drew first blood with a 10th minute try followed by a conversion.

Warriors hit back with a try five minutes later but failed to convert.

Just before half-time, KRFC conceded a penalty which the Warriors decided to kick to goal.

The score at half-time was Warriors 8 KRFC 7.

The tight match continued after the breather.

KRFC came close but counter attacks by Warriors eventually decided the match by a eight-point margin.

Both teams were unbeaten in the league after whipping two other teams 1st Division Infantry and Unimas Lycans earlier.

KRFC management is hoping that local company Akhdan RNA, which sponsored the league, will do so again next year.
