KUCHING: State Taekwondo Association (WTF) exponents returned with a good collection of 7 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals from the recent Thailand Taekwondo Clubs Invitation Championship 2016 held in Bangkok

The state contingent was led by Master Tan Check Joon, the state technical chairman and chief instructor, who was assisted by Master Kochphoom Nimmit , the Sukma coach from Thailand and Duong Thi Huynh Mai, the Sukma poomsae coach from Vietnam.

The gold medalists were Tan Yen Ming, Mohd Amirul Bin Juwanda, Eimran Ghaffary Bin Mohamad Daud, Virtlam Anak Umpau, Tie Ton Siong, Nurul Nur Hafizza Binti Mahdi and Caren Li Ying Cing. Tie Sing Da, Monica Sharma Sanjeev Kumar and Maryllynze Bungan Lian contributed the silvers while Augustine Rudy Anak Grocer, Nurul Hidayah Binti Abdul Karim, Chai Chun Hui and Ricky Donny Ling collected the bronzes.

‘Our team are moving up and I am confident that they will maintain their level headed and keep feet on the ground so as to achieve further glory in the coming Sukan Malaysia (Sukma),” association president Tuan Haji Mohamad Salleh Bin Haji Sani said in a press statement.
