The Ministry of Finance (MoF) led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the Second Minister of Finance, held a Tahlil ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum to pay respects to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s late parents, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, brudirect.com reported.
Present were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hisham bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister of Finance; permanent secretaries; deputy permanent secretaries; heads of departments and sections and staff of the ministry.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and mass Tahlil led by Awang Haji Syamsul Nizam bin Haji Badar, Mosque Affairs Officer at the Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque, Kampong Sungai Akar.
Meanwhile, female officers and staff of the MoF held a mass Zohor prayer and attended a special religious lecture designated for the holy month of Ramadhan.
The lecture was presented by Dr. Lilly Suzana binti Haji Shamsu, an invited lecturer from the Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali entitled ‘Ada Apa Dengan Ramadhan?’
Present as guest of honour was Pengiran Hajah Siti Nirmala binti Pengiran Haji Mohammad, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance.
