KOTA BELUD: The Kota Belud police contingent has taken a proactive approach before launching the Ops Selamat 09/2016 for the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
District police chief Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said the pre-launch of Ops Selamat 09/2016 was to get feedback from the public prior to the official launching of the operation on June 29.
“The purpose of the pre-launch was to get maximum feedback from the public for the success of the actual operation later.
“This is also to ensure all police officers and personnel are equipped with their tasks and duties,” he said yesterday.
Meanwhile, Mohd Zaidi said based on previous records, many teachers and government servants had gone back to their hometown much earlier for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration to avoid traffic jam.
“We have therefore handed out ‘balik kampung’ forms to the public so they can fill them up earlier to avoid a last-minute preparation.
“This will also make it easier for us to have all the names of residents who will be leaving their home so we can arrange for police patrol in their areas,” he said.
