Perkip Limbang carries out porridge tradition for Ramadan

LIMBANG: Sarawak Health Islamic Welfare Association (Perkip) Limbang Branch continues its tradition of carrying out charitable activities during the holy month of Ramadan.

On Friday, they added the cooking of ‘bubur lambuk’ (traditional Malay porridge) to their Ramadan programme,

Leading the members was the association’s advisor and Limbang Division health officer Dr Norliza Jusoh.

Others taking part were Limbang Hospital director Dr Mohd Ng Siah Huat, Perkip Limbang representative Hanifah Ahmed and other exco members.

“The preparation of bubur lambuk could enhance rapport and cooperation among Muslim and non-Muslim staff.

“We could promote this traditional porridge, a must-have during Ramadan,” she said when met by the media during the programme to prepare bubur lambuk.

Among the sponsors for the programme were Bernas, Syarikat S’Ahmad and Son, Hj Dahlan Enterprise.

The bubur lambuk was later distributed to over 300 staff of Limbang Hospital.

Dr Norliza commended the health staff and sponsors for the project.

Other activities conducted throughout Ramadan were breaking of fast, Maghrib, Isya and Terawih prayers and donations to surau.

She urged them to uphold the team spirit in carrying out community service during festive occasions.
