BETONG: PRS Youth and PRS 30 recently paid a visit to Rumah Guyu Ng Ukom Engkari, Lubok Antu to give some aid to fire victims at the longhouse which was burned down a few months ago.

Organised by PRS Youth education bureau chief Martin John Madden, together with PRS 30’s Surai Anthony Abell, the team brought food items and basic necessities to the longhouse folk.

Martin also gave a motivation talk to the youths at the longhouse to encourage them to study and to expose them to the many opportunities available for them.

Besides that, Martin also reminded them on basic precautions to prevent fires in the longhouse.

“The spirit of cooperation shown by the team and the people was excellent and the team looks forward to a similar trip in future,” Madden told BAT 6 yesterday.

Meanwhile, Madden said Surai also gave a talk to youths about business-related activities that could benefit their livelihood and brighten their future.

After the talk, the team together with 30 students from International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (i-CATS) joined longhouse folks in a ‘gotong-royong’ activity to clean and repair the community hall.
