KUCHING: Rhythmic gymnastics of Sukma XVIII to be hosted by Sarawak from July 22-31 will be having the shortest competition as it has the least participants.

In confirming this on Tuesday, Sukma XVIII chief technical supervisor Ahmad Rozli Hashim said rhythmic gymnastics will only be competed over two days at the MBKS Indoor Stadium in Pending from July 19 to 20.

“The decision to shorten the competition for rhythmic gymnastics was made by the Sukma XVIII Supreme Council due to fewer participants for the event,” he said.

It was learnt that only five states Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Pahang, Perak and host Sarawak have confirmed for the event which is divided into team and individual apparatus (rope, hoop, ball and clubs).

Each team is expected to send a maximum of five athletes where only four can compete in the events.
