SIBU: Brigadier-General Subari Tomo is the new commander of Ninth Infantry Brigade taking over from Brigadier-General Abdul Rahim Sebeli who is on transfer to Negeri Sembilan as the new commander of the Army Academy in Port Dickson.
The handing-over ceremony was held at Third Battalion Royal Rangers Regiment camp in Mile 14, Oya Road here yesterday. It was witnessed by First Infantry Division commander Major-General Datuk Stephen Mundaw.
In his speech, Abdul Rahim noted many efforts by the government to provide comfort to the camp community.
“Examples are the on-going construction work at 20th Battalion of Royal Malay Army Regiment and 3RRD camps.
“Family housing at Rascom Camp will also be upgraded. These prove that the government cares about the well-being of the army community.
“I believe many more projects will be coming our way,” he said.
He thanked the Ninth Brigade community for their cooperation during his tenure as their commander for one year and eight months.
