KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested a husband and wife after they found 48 slabs of marijuana worth about RM104,000 during a raid at 5th Mile, Jalan Ipoh here, on Wednesday.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh said following public tip-off, a police team detained the couple, aged 31 and 22, at about 1am when they were in a Perodua Myvi along with their one year-old infant near their house in Jalan Ipoh.

“Also seized was a bunch of keys including a Proton Perdana key which was found in a sling bag of the car (Perodua Myvi).

“The suspect then led police to a car park where the Proton Perdana was parked, and found the drugs weighing about 46 kilogrammes in two backpacks in the car boot,” he told a press conference here, yesterday.

Amar Singh said further investigations had led to another raid at the suspects’ house in the area.

“Upon checking at the house, police found 10 plastic packets believed to be heroin and Syabu, weighing about 486 grammes.

“Also seized in the raid were cash and other belongings of the suspects including the Perodua Myvi worth RM58,550,” he said. — Bernama
