MIRI: IBS College, Miri recently collaborated with the Malaysian Red Cross to hold a blood donation campaign on campus in conjunction with Ramadan.

Seventy people participated in the campaign held at the college’s lobby from 9 am to 12pm.

The campaign was adopted as one of the college’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes aimed at inculcating the spirit of volunteerism among the students as well as to ensure sufficient supply of blood at Miri General Hospital.

Student Cindy Sia who was helping out at the campaign said she had been participating in many similar charitable activities since she began her studies at IBS College.

“I like to join this kind of activity which I think is meaningful to help others and save lives,” she said.

Miri Blood Bank personnel Benedict Jong thanked the college’s students and staff for supporting the community project.

IBS College offers business and finance programmes leading to certificates, diplomas and degrees with specialisations in accounting and finance, human resources management, marketing management, international business and business administration.

The college is the first private institution of higher learning in Sarawak to offer the Diploma in Security and Safety Management. Their next intake will commence on July 11.
